Saints of Discord
Those Who Have Achieved Chaotic Enlightenment
What is a Discordian Saint?
Discordian Saints are individuals who have, in some way, embodied the principles of Eris — whether through their art, philosophy, humor, or sheer chaotic existence. Unlike traditional canonization, Discordian sainthood requires no miracles, no investigations, and no waiting period.
If you're a Pope (and you are), you have the power to canonize anyone — living, dead, fictional, or conceptual.
Traditional Discordian Saints
St. Hung Mung
Patron of Those Who Sleep Late
Feast Day: Setting Orange 5th (Syaday)
A Sage of Ancient China who answered all questions by shouting "MU!" loudly and unexpectedly. His answer to "What is the meaning of life?" was particularly memorable.
St. Mo-Jo
Patron of Those Who Don't Know What's Going On
Feast Day: Confusion 5th (Syaday)
A Sage of the Rainforests who discovered that the confused state is actually the most enlightened state.
St. Zarathud the Incorrigible
Apostle of Strabismus
Feast Day: Bureaucracy 5th (Syaday)
Author of the famous apostle saying: "ZARATHUD'S ENLIGHTENMENT: Before he became a Discordian, Zarathud was an Erisian. He would spend his days in the Temple of Eris, trying to make sense of the universe. One day, he achieved enlightenment: 'There is no sense.'"
St. Gulik the Stoned
Patron of Those Who Are Not There
Feast Day: Discord 5th (Syaday)
Known for profound insights delivered while in states of altered consciousness. His cockroach became the Sacred Chao's symbol of persistence.
St. Malaclypse the Younger
KSC, Omnibenevolent Polyfather of Virginity in Gold
Feast Day: The Aftermath 5th (Syaday)
Co-author of the Principia Discordia and co-founder of the Discordian Society. Also known as Mal-2. His whereabouts after 1980 remain fnord.
Canonization Service
Canonize a Saint
Have someone you believe deserves sainthood? As a Pope, you have the divine authority to canonize anyone. Our Canonization Service makes it official and eternal.
"Is Eris true?"
"Everything is true."
"Even false things?"
"Even false things are true."
"How can that be?"
"I don't know man, I didn't do it."
